Modern Day Romero and Juliet

The Monty’s had so much to be proud of, but nothing compares to bringing the newborn baby that God has blessed them. Carl Monty is a respected member of the religious community. He always wore a suit or at least a dress shirt and slacks. Margret, Carl’s wife, can always be found in a dress. They always invite people in distress with a prayer and tithe to their church. Carl carrier a basket where baby Ray slept.

They lived in a quiet neighborhood where everyone knew each other. Carl always sets up the block parties and welcome to the neighborhood gifting. As they walk up the sidewalk pavement to the front door of the couple’s sunshine yellow home, Carl Monty stops and looks toward a giant wooden fence that barriers them for the neighbor.

“Is everything okay, dear?” Asked Margret Monty. She stood next to him.

“Do you think bringing a child to this world was a good idea?” Asked Carl. “You know, with all the issues in today’s world.

“We cannot control anyone’s life choices; all we can do is try to get them on the right path. Baby Ray is going to be an amazing child. He already has amazing parents to lead him on the right path.” Margret Responds. She grabbed his arm. “Let's go inside.”

“I guess you’re right. I hate to think that this is the world now,“ Carl said as he continued with Margret to the door.

A few days later, on the other side of the fence, the Calputs arrived at their home with a new bundle of joy. Another gorgeous day in the neighborhood. The two men were Jim and Andy. They were in love. They have been together for years before adopting their first child, Julie. They always wanted a family together, and their day has finally come. Jim was an application designer for a big company like Google, but not Google. Andy was a retail manager who just his 10 years on the job.

The two men were walking up to the front door. One of the gentlemen was carrying a baby car seat and ecstatic while the other one looked miserable. He kept looking at the basket that Jim was carrying.

“Are you excited?” Asked Jim. “We are parents of a beautiful baby!” He said with a big simile on his face. He was so thrilled that this day has finally come.

“I specifically asked the adoption agency for a boy,” Andy responded. “I can’t relate to a girl. She’s eventually going to grow up, and you know, start period’ing and probably hate baseball.” Andy replied. He stopped and folded his arms.

“Don’t be silly!” Jim interrupted. “We’re going to be fine. We are going to be great parents, for a boy, girl or otherwise.” Jim grabbed his arm with his free hand. “Come on, let's go inside.” They continued to the front door. “I can’t believe you asked for the return policy like she was a pair of shoes or something. ”

“I was just asking, like incase she was broken or something?” Andy said. “I don’t know the right questions to ask, and I want to make sure we got all the information we needed.”

Andy unlocks the front door of their big beautiful home. The couple enters, and the door closes behind them.

Five years later.

Ray is wearing a suit, sitting in the grass of the Monty family’s front lawn, reading a book. Out of nowhere, a baseball plops on his lap. Confused by this, he hears crying on the other side of the fence. He peaks through a hole in the fence and sees a small girl, wearing a baseball cap and a catcher’s mitt. She was in tears. Ray picks up the ball off the ground and flips it over the fence. The girl picks up the ball and breaks into the biggest smile. Andy opens the front door.

“Julie! Daddy is almost home, time to wash up for dinner!” He shouted.

“Okay, daddy!” She said. Julie runs into the house. Ray lost sight of Julie and walked to the end of the fence. He peeks around the corner at the neighbors yard where the baseball laid in the grass.

Later that night, Ray was at the dinner table with his mom and dad. They had dinner spread on the table. All of them were still dressed up. Ray batted around peas on his plate into his mash potatoes. He put his head in his hand and let out a deep sigh.

“Is everything all right, dear?” Margret Monty asked. She faced him as she waited for an answer. Ray quickly turned his head toward his mother with hope. He was always told not to talk to them. He thought they would be more considerate if they knew that there was a kid who played alone.

“There’s a girl next door. Can I play with her?” Ray asked. “She was all alone and could use someone to play with!”

The mother stopped in shock. “Well, um, honey, I don’t think that is a great idea.” The dad grew angry but helped his composture.

“They are not like us. Anyone like them is going to big trouble when they are standing in front of God.” Carl continued. “You don’t want to be mixed up with that, do you?”

“N-no,” Ray responded. He went back to his plate. “Did you know she doesn’t have a mom? I think she has two dads.”

BAM!

Carl’s face is lit up red slams his hands on the table which shook everything sitting on top of it. Even Margret jumped.

“I can’t do this Margret. I can’t do this.” Carl argued. He put his head in his hand. “I got an idea.”

Carl pulled Ray’s where he was facing him.  Carl turned his chair toward ray.

“They are not good people,” Carl stated. He stood firm. “They will be going to hell, and you don’t want to be a part of that. Your mother and I love you too much for that to happen to you.”

“Okay, dad,” Ray responded. He put his head down and slowly continued to eat the mash potatoes on his plate. He did not want to disappoint his parents or argue with their decision.

The next day, Ray is lying on his belly on the front lawn. He had an open book in front of him with Aesops Fable. He laid with his feet in the air, kicking.

“Plop!” The baseball lands in front of him on the book. He can hear a girl’s giggle from the other side of the fence. He noticed an eye peering through the peephole he used before. A smile appeared on Ray’s face.

“Oh, yea?” Ray said. He grabbed the baseball in his hand and quickly raced to the other side of the face. He starts chasing the girl in circles with the baseball extended in one hand as he was trying to tag her out. They run into a small garden that was fenced off with a little white picket fence. Inside the fence were the most beautiful petunias anyone has ever seen. The children ran all over the garden, smashing flowers with every step they took.

Andy opens the door and yelled. “Julie, time for din… Oh, my flowers! My award-winning Petunias!” Andy quickly races down to stop the children and save his prize-winning Petunias.

“Ray?” Margret yelled. She pokes her head from around the fence post. Andy is standing in despair. He is carrying both children under each arm as he tries to tiptoe out of his garden, avoiding stepping on another plant.

“What are you doing with my child?!” Margret growled. She stomped from behind the fence. “Put him down now!”

“What is your child doing in my flower garden is a better question!” Andy growled back. “If you had a better eye on him, he wouldn’t be in here in the first place!”
Margret grabbed Ray out of Andy’s arm and stormed off. She did not say another word about the flowers or Julie.

Later that day, Julie is sitting in a chair with her arms on the armrest. In front of her, both her fathers are sitting. She was nervous and tapped the edge of the armrest.

“Julie, I understand that you may think you have a friend, but honey, they are not nice people.” Andy tried explaining. “Some people are just not happy with the world as it is and… .”

“I think you should stay away from that boy. His parents are mean.” Jim interrupted. “I don’t think they link us and they certainly seem they don’t want you playing with their son.”

Weeks had gone by before the children ever got to see each other. The season went on, but it didn’t stop them from trying to see each other. Then finally that one day, Julie got a new pink bicycle. She was excited and could not wait to show Ray. She tried riding it in front of the next-door neighbor’s house to see if she can see Ray. Ray was staring out the front window when Julie came riding across the front of the house.

Julie noticed him watching, and she wanted to wave. While letting go of the handlebar, she lost control of the bicycle and ran into the wooden fence. The bicycle flipped over. She scraped her knee. Julie started screaming.

“Waahhhhhhh!” Julie wailed.

Ray jumped up and without hesitation. He looked around and did not see his parents insight. He raced to the bathroom for a bandaid before he ran out of the front door. He went to comfort poor little Julie.  Julie’s parents overheard the excitement and came running out as well as Ray’s parents.

They were too late. Ray has already saved the day. He placed the bandaid on her scrap and hugged. The adults stand together in awe.

The End.

[WP] Your tech-illiterate grandmother somehow broke into a top-secret government database while trying to get "the Google".WRITING PROMPT

Every week I found myself helping Grandma. Normally she needs help doing her normally grocery run but this week was different. She said that her computer had a red screen. I thought she meant the blue screen of death. I have never heard of a red screen.

Upon arriving I noticed a lot of SWAT vans surrounding the front of her old folk’s home. This was very uncommon in this neighborhood. So I took some pictures for Snapchat and went through a different entrance of an underground garage. This place was secured and needed a password to get into anything like the garage. ‘62354’ I quickly punch in the keypad and I was able to get into the garage. I parked in Grandma’s Parking spot since she was too old to drive, she kept it for her visitors.

I get to the top of the garage stairs and my phone begins to ring. This is like the 8th time today. This was common with her to call a number of times to see how far I was so she can be ‘decent’ or something. Decent to her is not having her false teeth out in the opening. I get to her room and knock on her door.

“Oh my!” I hear Grandma startled on the other side of the door.

“Grandma, it’s me!” I yelled. The door started to unlock and slowly opens. She peeks through a crack. I can see that she was alarmed and extremely nervous. Normally it is over nothing. Normally. So I didn’t think much about it.

“Is there anyone with you?” She asked.

I know my Grandma can flip out on little things and of course, this is one of those moments. She didn’t leave her house for a week once, thinking that World War 3 would start after some major terrorist attacks.

“No Grandma. Just me.”  I responded. “Are you waiting on Jim?”

Jim was like my Grandma’s best friend. He was her Maintenance Man. He would adjust the heat and change bulbs for her.

“No. The man on the screen.” She responded, trembling. “I tried to call Jim and he didn’t pick up. I think they got him. I thought they got you too.”

Okay, this is getting a little crazy.

“Let me in, Grandma,” I demanded as I lean against the door.

She quickly opens the door and I raced in. She slams the door behind me and locks all the locks. This is definitely like her when she has her crazy moments.

“What is going on?” I asked.

“My computer.” She responded. “I did that Facebook thing as you asked. I shared things and I can talk to my sister in Florida and my Best friend in Oregon.”

“That’s awesome!” I said.

“No! It is not!” Grandma said. “They are coming after me. They said they know where I’m at!”

She was obviously scared of something.

“Let me see your computer,” I asked.

The computer was turned off. After investigating the system, I noticed it was unplugged. I went to plug in the computer. Her computer chair was also on its side, laying on the floor.

“No, NO!” Grandma shouted. “They are trying to take my information!”

I raise my hand to try to calm grandma.

“It’s okay,” I said. “I will take care of it.”

I plugged in the computer and it started to boot up. I pick up her chair and sat in front of the computer.

“The man on the screen said he will find me!” Grandma begins to rant again.

“Let me talk to him.”

The computer loaded up like normal. Well a bit slower, but still everything seemed normal.

“Where’s this man?” I asked grandma.

“On the internet,” Grandma said. She takes a seat on the sofa behind me and begins to rock back and forth.

“Okay, I’ll talk to him.”

I clicked on her internet link which took me straight to her Facebook. Her log information was saved on the system so it automatically logged me in for ease of access for grandma to her Facebook games.

Then I finally noticed something strange. Her Facebook notifications and friend requests were through the roof. I’m talking about several thousand, maybe millions combined. She had shared some top secret governement files and apparently, a lot of people loved the idea.

“What did you do?” I asked grandma.

“Susana. She told me about Google. She said I could find anything on there. I wanted to get some coupons for the store. I was racing to get them before you got here. I found some interesting articles about recording calls and shared them. Then the man came.” She said.

Susana was grandma’s best friend. She was living with her kids and grandkids and kept up with the times. My grandma always listened to Susana when it came to modern times. Susana had a way to explain it better to grandma then I ever could.

I went through grandma’s search history. I noticed a lot of random dot GOV sites. I clicked on one.

“Access revoked!” popped on the red screen.

“What is this? I asked Grandma.

“Oh, I just hit the back button.” She said. “Then you can sign back onto the internet.”

I hit back until a login screen to access GOVERNMENT FILES CONFIDENTIAL.

“That’s it!” She said. “Let me sign in for you.”

“Uh, okay.” I thought.

She typed in 62354 in the user field.

“Grandma, that’s not…” I begin to say.

She typed 62354 in the password.

I stopped my sentence to entertain the thought.

She clicked ‘sign in’.

‘ENTERING VIDEO CHAT.’ Appeared in bright red letters on a black screen. A man appears.

“So you came back!” He said. A black box appears on the bottom right side of the screen. It was Grandma’s Camera that fell behind the desk.

“You don’t understand,” I tried to shout then I remember that grandma didn’t have a microphone.

Then I noticed there was a chat box on the bottom that continued a previous conversation.

Something along the lines…

USGOV: You don’t have permissions to access.

ME: Google

USGOV: What do you want?

ME: google

USGOV: This is not humorous. You will be arrested if you don’t immediately leave.

ME: GOOGLE

USGOV: We have locked onto your location. We are on our way.

ME: Facebook

ME: Coupons

ME: Coupons for milk

ME: Coupons for juice

ME: Medication

ME: Coupons for Medication

First, let me say grandma is slow but she is old. She has no idea what she had done. This is an honest mistake, right?

“Oh shit,” I said. I thought back to the SWAT team outside who were probably waiting for my Grandma.

It's Complicated: The Story of an Accidental Playa. - Part One

Madden, a high school nerd, has a crush on the girl next door, Alex. When things don't work out, Alex convinces the hottest girl in school to go on the date with Madden. The date taught Madden how to get with any girl but he continued to pine over Alex. When he found out that Alex hated him more for dating around, he tried to cut relations with every girl involve and recruit Alex's help to do so.

Chapter One.

A high school couple laid in bed. The boy is laying on top of the girl kissing. Madden and Alex have been friends forever. They have always lived next door to each other but never have been this close. It started with a game called, I dare you which got out of control.  Madden laid on top of her, built up in excitement. He could not believe that Alex was here and he was kissing her. She is in his bed! Madden has known Alex since kindergarten. He had a huge crush on her, he would always have wanted to play with what she was playing with and follow her around. He just never imagined that she would be in his bed. In between kissed, Madden had to keep opening his eyes to make sure she was still there and to make sure it was still her. He always dreamt about her smooth skin and her soft touch. Madden had to make sure this wasnt a dream. Madden was very uncomfortable. He is wearing jeans but he was not ready to take them off. The jeans and being nervous made him sweat. He would use his arm to wipe his forehead without interrupting their make-out session. He did not want to do anything that would scare her away. Alex was wearing a tight blue t-shirt that had a skull and short black running shorts. She was always running. It was something her dad always did. He is a chef and always watched his health.
They lay on blue sheets on the bed. The walls around them are covered in posters of bands and pictures of friends. A guitar is leaning against a dresser that has clothes hanging out the drawers. A digital alarm clock sat on top of the dresser that had bright numbers. Madden peek up at the clock as if it was being timed, to make sure his dad would not be home anytime soon. The room is quiet.
“Is everything ok?” she asked through her smile. She waited for an answer.
“Yes,” Madden replied.
The two continue heavily kissing, and then her hand traveled down Maddens stomach. Madden was not sure what to expect. He had a can of whipped cream nearby that his little brother left in the room earlier that morning from the waffles they had for breakfast. Madden did not know the correlation between food and making love, except what he saw in the movies. He tried to reach over and grab the whipped cream, but she grabbed his hand in midair and put them on her waist. He did not want to disappoint her on their first time. He finally builds up the courage and his fingers begin to feel on the rim of her shorts, following the movement with her as they were somehow dancing. He finally folds down the elastic of her shorts and found the lace brim of her panties. Maddens mind stopped racing and started to focus on just that. His heart beats harder.
Creeeeeek…. The bedroom door opened.
A younger version of Madden peeks inside the room. Everyone stopped moving. She stopped, then Madden stopped. It was Caleb, Maddens younger brother. They both stare at him for just a second. Madden was still on top of Alex. Caleb is always with Madden and they always had a great sibling relationship.
“Sorry, I didn’t know she was still here,” Caleb said. He continued to stare at the two, still laying on each other. “What are you guys doing?”
“Give us a few, yeah?” Madden instantly replies. Caleb closed the door right away without a response.
Where were we? asked Madden as turned back to her. He goes for a kiss but she kept her focus on the door. He kissed her cheek.
“We cant do this! This is terrible! I think that was a sign. I think I should tell you something. But you can’t get mad.” She said. She looked back up at him.
“Is everything ok?” Madden asked curiously.
“He won’t barge in again.” He tried to go in for another kiss. She turned her head away.
“Yea.” She said, “Everythings great.”
Then what is it? Madden asked. Dont tell me that youre been arranged to be married, Madden said jokingly with a fake smile on his face. Madden knows that Alex is from a strict heritage and he always used this as an excuse to not pursue her previously. Her parents were introduced to each other in some sort of arranged marriage.
“What?!” Alex said with a surprised look on her face.
“No!” She giggled. She pushed him off of her and sat at the edge of the bed.
“You’re not allowed to date outside your race?” Madden asked a bit more serious. He knew how strict her parents were.
Do you remember Jay? She began, I know we had our troubles, but we are still together,
“Oh.” Madden replied, “I thought you guys broke up…” Madden never met Jay but Alex always talks about him negatively to the point where she is crying.
She interrupted, “it’s not just that.” She turned her head and looked over toward Madden. He hoped for some sort of understanding.
At this point, Madden is focusing on her eyes. She shamefully looked at Madden. Madden was not mad because he has known this girl his whole life. He did not think anything could stop him or change his mind about her. She has always been there. He is not to drop out on her. He thought Alex and Jay were through. He thought she would officially leave this douchebag. There were days Alex would come to class with puffy red eyes because of the trouble he would put her through. They were always fighting and Madden was always there to save the day.
“I’ve never had sex before.” She said before taking a deep breath. “with a guy.”
“You’ve been with a guy this long and still nothing?” Madden asked confused. “Is he doing something wrong?”
Madden has not been this intimate before. He continued to maintain his cool. The only experience he had is what he saw in the R rated movies his dad let him watch.
“Well, he is not a he. He is a she.” Alex said to Madden. Madden stared at Alex petrified.
“Jay, is a she?” Madden is puzzled. The room got quiet. They can hear the birds chirping outside Madden’s bedroom window.
“J is for Jennifer,” Alex said. “Jay was always a girl. I just didn’t know how you would react if I told you that in the first place.”
The room was silent for several minutes more, until Alex looked over at the clock and quickly looked back. Madden laid still on the bed. He is in denial of her confession. The girl of his dreams could not be any less interested in him. He was just on top of her.
“I can prove it,” Alex said, “She calls me every day on her break. It never fails.”
Alex sat closer to Madden. He sat up against the wall. She lays the cell phone in between them. Madden stared at the phone as if it was about to blow up. His sweat was worse than before.
The phone rang as Alex predicted. The caller shows “J”. It rang twice. Alex picked up the phone and put the speaker phone on so that Madden can hear as well.
“Baby?” Alex said in a soft voice. She stared at Madden the whole time.
Hi, youre up early. Said an unfamiliar womans voice. After last night, I didnt think you would be up this early, Jay said with a chuckle.
“Shut up! What happened if I was around someone?” Alex shouted with a cheesy smile. “Oh my God.”
“Good! Then they will know you belong to me.” Jay’s voice got stern on the speaker. “What are you doing right now?”
Waiting for you, Alex said. Her eyes wandered off on to the ceiling. Same time, your place?
Sounds good, Jay said.
Madden had no idea. He did not know how to express feelings. Madden’s biggest crush just came out of the closet and is not single. Alex showed no interest in chicks or at least not when he was around her. Madden got up from the bed.
“Well, I’m going to start getting ready to meet you, babe,” Alex said. She is stared at the phone in her hands.
Okay, I love you, Jay said in a chipper tone.
“I love you too,” Alex said. She mimics herself hanging from a noose. Alex hung up the phone and tried placing her head on Maddens shoulder.
“Are you ok?” she said, breaking the silence. Madden pulled his shoulder away from her.
“Yea, I think you should go,” said Madden. Madden thought he was going to get in a relationship with Alex until a few minutes ago.
I thought it would be okay if I told you that I was seeing someone, Alex said. I didnt believe that you wouldve got this mad or I would not have said anything at all.
She turned to Madden. Madden hung his head. He was trying to not acknowledge Alex.
“I’ll call you later?” Alex asked. She tried to revive his interest in hanging out with her still.
“No, you don’t have to,” Madden said. He turned his back on her and stared out the window. His Dreams were crushed.
Please, dont be like this, Madden, Alex said. She began to beg. I like you, like a lot. I am not ready for a relationship.
“Don’t worry I am not mad.” Madden Said. He ended the conversation. He did not even bother to look up at her face one last time. She got up and left the room.
Madden was always there for her. After tugging one out to the thought of sleeping with a lesbian. He laid in his bed remembering the times that he had with her. He remembers their first kiss; she put on him after he stole his dads car to rescued her from one of her friends crazy parties. She said she did not feel safe with the drunk college boys and needed him. Of course, he didnt have a license, but it wasnt like his father notice anyway with his thirteen plus hour shifts at the printing factory, there was barely time to sleep. Madden could not stop the thoughts of losing her, but he did not know how to overcome this. Madden used to walk around the block to accidentally run into Alex and she never seemed to mind, she greeted him with a big smile. He thought he would spend the rest of his life with her.
During the very next day at school, Madden tried anything to avoid conversation with Alex. She had tried several attempts. He always dodged her by turning away and talking to someone else or just simply walking away. Alex noticed this and did not know how to get his attention.
Down the hallway, the egg-colored walls have a line of gray lockers. Toward the end of the hall, we see Madden hanging out with his best friend, Rainer. Madden met Rainer in Elementary School. Madden shares everything with Rainer. Some call Rainer, Maddens kidney. Rainer was a tall kid and did not have many friends. He wore thick bottle cap glasses and had an afro. Rainer was a big fan of video games and always compared life to video games. As Madden and Rainer head into the classroom, Alex quietly follows behind them. She halts at the door and stood off to the side. Another classmate, Daisy, walked up to Alex. Daisy was one of the prettiest girls in the school. She had ocean blue eyes and one of the prettiest smiles that revealed dimples on her cheeks. She wore a yellow sundress and got a lot of attention from the boys that day. She has carried a blue sweater that she ties around her shoulders.
“Everything okay, Alex?” Daisy said. She broke Alexs concentration. Then it hit Alex. What if Alex can get Madden a girlfriend so he can get her off his mind? She knew what to do.
Yeah, of course, I am okay. Alex began. She turned to Daisy and placed her hands on her shoulders. Alex knew Daisy was attractive. She knew Daisys reputation. She knew that Daisy grew crushes on guys quickly. Alex knew what to do.
Your dress is so cute, Alex said. She examined Daisys outfit closely. “I might have to steal it!”
Thank you! Daisy said. She lit up with a smile.
“My friend Madden, has a crush on you. You should give him a chance; he is a great guy.” Alex attempts to persuade Daisy in a date.
“I don’t know if that is a good idea. I am seeing Carlos and I thought it is getting pretty serious” Daisy response. “He said he was going to break it off with his girlfriend.”
“Just give him a chance, what is the worst that could happen?” Alex held her hands up, “You will fall for him?  I pretty sure he won’t mind, he likes you a lot. Any chance is better than no chance at all, right? Besides, you and Carlos are not labeled yet!”
I guess I can give him just one night, right? Daisy asked. Daisy slowly reconsidered Alexs proposition. She has constant dreams of how her dates would be different from other people.
“Yeah, he will even take you out” Alex chimed as she is throwing another shot of certainty. “He wanted to see that new ‘Monster State’ movie.  Just this film and that’s it. You don’t have to make it official or anything. Just make it a night he won’t forget.”
Oh, I want to see that movie but Carlos doesnt like going to the movies. He thinks they are just dumb. He thinks going out altogether is just a waste of money. I think Im due for a film anyway.
“Oh well, there you go! Madden loves that stuff and besides he likes you. Before you and Carlos make it official by tying the knot, you should at least get this last time out with someone different.” Alex insisted.
Okay, I will. Daisy walked away more confident and excited for this date with Madden.
Madden and Rainer walk into the classroom. There was a bag hanging over the chair in the front row and notebooks laying across the table. Each notebook had different cats and rainbows stickers. They sat in the row behind it. The classroom walls are covered with posters with quotes of famous inventors and scientists. The biggest poster was the periodic table that is placed over the front blackboard.
Other students continued to trickle into the class right before the bell rang. A biology teacher walked into class. He is tall and skinny with comb back hair. His arms are filled with books and papers. He raced straight to the desk and placed his belongings on the top of the desk. He then goes to the board and begun to write things on the board.
Hello, class. The teacher broke the chattering amongst the students with his strong foreign accent. For those who I don’t know, Im Dr. Sycamore. He quickly grabbed a piece of chalk and drew a cell membrane on the board. Madden and Rainer’s attention were stuck on the teacher. The door opened and disrupted his introduction speech.
Daisy walked in. She headed to the seat where the bag and notebooks were, in front of Rainer and Madden. She took a quick glance at Madden as she sat. Madden and Rainer lost all attention to the teacher to watch her sit.
Am I in your way? She turned back and asked, taking both of the boys attention from her.
No, you are perfect. Madden quickly responded with a smile. She smiled back.
“Thank you!” She said with a huge smile. Madden could not help it, but to smile back.
Yea you dont have a big head like Madden, Rainer added as he snickered to himself. “Don’t try to buy this guy a hat.”
Its small and cute, and stuff, Daisy defends Madden as giggles in her hand. Madden slowly turned and stared at Rainer. She uncontrollably laughed even more.
Fuck-is on the board. Doctor Sycamore appears in front of the group, standing over Daisy’s desk in the front row. A big outburst of laughter came from the class.
Do you mean to focus? Madden asks, knowing that’s what he was trying to say and saving him from embarrassment.
Yea that. Professor Sycamore turned back to the board.
After class, Madden was standing at the entrance of the high school with Rainer. Daisy walked out of the school toward Rainer and Maddens path. The boys are mesmerized by her beauty and could not help but to stare.
“She’s hot,” Rainer said. He stared at her as he elbowed Madden. “You should talk to her.”
I dont know; shes way out of my league, Madden said. I dont think she would be into a guy like me.
Daisy headed straight toward Madden. Daisy knew that if she was serious about this date that she has to make her move before Carlos made them exclusive.
“I think she heard us…” Rainer said. He nervously turned and walked away. “Here’s your chance.”
“Wh.. wh.. what?” Madden said. His mind raced as he tried to think of something cool to say. His hands started to get wet with sweat. He felt that he needed to clear his voice.
“Hey, Madden?” Daisy said softly. She got really close to him. He tried to make eye contact, but his nerves kept leading his eyes away.
“Uh. Ya.. yeah?” Madden said. He tried to keep his posture.
“I just wanted to know if you wanted to see ‘Monster State’ with me?” Daisy asked bashfully. “If you don’t, I will not be mad.”
Uh. Ya... I mean, yeah! Madden excitedly responded. His heartbeat raced.
Daisy giggled. Rainer stared at Madden from a distance, Rainer mouths ‘What’s going on?’ Madden just smiled back. Daisy grabs Madden’s hand and pulled out a pen from her pocket. She quickly scribbles her number on his hand.
Well, the Wilkins Theatre has a showing at 7, tonight. Hit me up if you dont change your mind, Daisy said. Daisy walked away and Maddens eyes follow. Rainer raced back to Madden.
What just happened? Asked Rainer as he stood next to Madden and they both watch Daisy walk away and her sundress waves behind her.
“I think she just asked me out?” Madden shouted as he slowly gathered what just happened. “She just asked me out!” Rainers head quickly snapped to Maddens direction.
No, she didnt. How did this happen? How can she be into you? Rainer asked. “I didn’t even know you guys talked out of class?!”
“I don’t know, but I am not going.” Madden’s eyes start drifted toward the floor. “I just can’t. If it is too good to be true, then it can’t be right?”
“Why not?” Rainer asked.
“This is just strange.” Madden still trying to collect his thoughts. “I barely know her and it’s Daisy.”
“And I made all the jokes but, hey, I say just do it. It is high school. Have a blast.” Rainer said. “Worst case scenario, you talk about the date for years to come?”
“Maybe your right.” Madden slowly picked up his head. He looked back at Rainer. “I just never been on a date with her. She has probably been on millions of dates.”

Chapter Two.

Later that day, Daisy and Madden meet at the theater. She is dress in a jean miniskirt and a black t-shirt. Madden went all out in his most casual outfit. He wore some gray and black marble polo and black dress slacks. He would wear this same outfit for formal family events. They stood outside in front of the theater by a Monster State movie poster.
“What? I’ve been out dressed?” Daisy said sarcastically. She took a good look at Madden’s clothes. “Not bad.”
“Ha, yea, I have not been on an actual date,” Madden said nervously. “I honestly don’t know to do. I know the kissing comes at the end of the date.” He laughed nervously.
“You got to fake it until you make it! I guess I’ll make it a night you won’t forget,” Daisy said with a flirtatious smile. Daisy grabs Madden’s hand.
Madden and Daisy approach the ticket booth. Madden stepped up, already beginning to sweat. He’s hoping it's not more than the twenty bucks he has in his pocket. Madden never went to see movies in the theaters. His dad always complains about how expensive the theaters are and always rented movies from the video store down the street.
"How many?" The ticket booth attendant asked as he followed the routine. He sat behind a glass window with a list of movie names and times displayed behind him.
“Two for Monster State” Madden shouted through the glass to the attendant. Daisy squeezed his arm playfully. Madden looked back at her with a smile.
“Ten dollars” The attendant shortly responded after entering the information in his register.
“Excuse me?” Madden. He thought he misheard the attendant.
“Ten!” He repeats himself. He held up all ten fingers up. Madden lets out a sigh of relief and pushed the twenty-dollar bill under the glass. The attendant pushed back a pair of tickets and then a ten-dollar bill. Madden quickly crumples them up and shoves them in his pocket.
“Don’t be so nervous!” Daisy said. She turned to smile at Madden. “A girl loves confidence!”
“Ok, should I be taking notes?” Madden said jokingly. “I feel like I should. Is there going to be a test?”
“If you want a girl like me.” She said with a huge smile on her face. Madden walked ahead and pulled the door leading into the large lobby. Madden held the door for Daisy.
“That earns points too.” She said. She still smiled. “Manners is a big one. Nobody ever uses them anymore.”
The lobby reeks of popcorn and years of dust. The foyer had a bunch of old movie posters displayed and red velvet flowing everywhere. Even on the benches that are spread throughout the hallway. There is also a small ticket box stationed at the end of the hall, but the attendant was nowhere to be found.
Daisy quickly reattached herself to Madden's arm as they continued walking until they come across four long hallways to the screening rooms. The walkways were labeled with a blackboard filled with white letters. They finally arrived at the Monster State theater, except instead of alphabetical "s," they had filled the board with the numeral "5's" as a substitute.
“I want you to know that I am terrified of horror movies so I may be hanging on your arm all night,” Daisy whispered.
“That’s completely fine with my arm.” Madden joked. He hoped that it did not sound as dumb to her as that did for him.
Daisy laughed as the two enter the theater. The theater was tiny and had a musty smell. It is filled with twenty wooden folding seats on an incline. The lights were on.
“Let’s sit in the back,” Daisy demanded. She pulled Madden’s arm up toward the stairs.
“Why in the back?” Madden asked as he stopped and Daisy lost her grasp on his arm. “The screen is going to be so far away, making it as small as my television at home.”
“Another thing you should learn is always taking a girl’s suggestion.” Daisy snapped back and then grabs Madden by the arm again and proceeds up to the seats in the dark. They head toward the center of the last row. Madden picked out a chair that had a screech as he started pulling the seat down. He nervously pulled the chair down faster, which made the screech louder He quickly sat down.
“Ok,” Madden whispered, as he grew more nervous, trying to prepare himself for anything that could happen on this out-of-no-where date.
“And plus, if you wanted to make a move, sitting back here would be the time. Save the regrets because the dark hides you from any rejection embarrassment.” She said with her eyes concentrated on the curtain in front of them.
"Sitting back here in case I decided to make a move?" Madden responded. "Like what?"
"Yea, in case if you attempt an inappropriate one," Daisy whispered.
"Ok" Madden trembled as he started slowly panicking and a feeling of nausea.
“Lucky us, not everyone wants to see this flick” Daisy joked as she made a hand gesture toward the empty eighteen seats around them. The lights grow dark They are sitting in the darkest part of the theater.
The theater is completely dark. A screen rolls down from the ceiling, slowly to the floor. A square of white light appeared on the screen; a film roll seemed to be adjusting as the movie begun to play.
“This theater is quite ancient. Who uses projectors?” Daisy randomly asked and looked at Madden.
“I believe a lot of still theaters do.” Madden said, “I heard it is quite expensive to update to high definitionso a lot of theaters can’t afford it. They continue to distribute movies on film to keep it available for all showings.”
Daisy was shocked to hear that there was an answer to that. “How do you know that?” Daisy asked as a follow-up.
“Rainer told me.” Madden turned back to the screen a little embarrassed. “The last Star Wars movie came only in Digital, I think, so only a limited amount of theaters had played it back then.”
The movie trailers began. They both focus back on the screen.
“What do I do now?” Madden asked as he hoped to advance or at least to live up to her expectation.
“Well hold my hand, goofy.” She brought up her arm on the armrest and held up her palm in between the two. Madden placed his hand on her hand.
"Ok," Madden said and turned his head toward her. Madden's eyes get stuck on Daisy's face as she stared at the screen. Madden hesitated but planned out his next move as his attention of the film fades. Madden remembered the comment Daisy made about avoiding regrets and he did not want to ruin this. The movie began with a woman running in the woods. Dramatic music plays and quickly comes to a halt with a boom.
"Whoa!!"  Daisy screams at the movie and turned to cover her eyes with Madden's arm. Madden has no idea what is going on in the movie. He is only paying attention to what is going on with Daisy. Madden let Daisy's hand go and folded the armrest in between them in the compartment in the back of the chair. Madden wrapped his arm around her and held her close. Daisy looked at him and smiled. She turned back to the screen, laying comfortable on Madden. Madden's hand drifted down her side to the rim of her mini skirt She tried to squeeze in his fingertips into her skirt. This caused Madden to lose complete track of the movie and to get very aroused.
Daisy looked up at him with a cheesy face. "It's my turn," she said. Her hand flails on his lap.
"What?" Asked Madden. Sweat started to build upon his forehead.  "What do you mean?" Daisy’s hand reached over Madden caught it before she landed on his lap.
“No, no.” She said. He looked at him and continued to reach over. Daisy started rubbing his member He quickly ejaculated from the thought of Daisy. Madden quickly pulled her hand away.
"I can't. You're moving too fast for me." Madden said. He tried to get his mind off the situation and squeezes her hand to keep her from discovering what he had just done.
“Wait? What?” She looked at him confused. Madden sat silently. “Did you cum?” Daisy asked. Madden didn't respond.
“You owe me.” Daisy continued to lay comfortable. Madden just nodded and pointed at the screen.
After the show ends. The lights turn on, Madden immediately covers his wet spot on his pants by untucking his polo. They walk out of the theater to the lot.
"The movie wasn't that bad, was it?" Madden asked. “I mean, it was a cheesy horror movie after all.”
"You have a bad taste in movies, but that's okay. Where did you park?" Daisy asked as she smiled at him.
“I didn’t,” Madden responded. "I don't have a car. I hope that doesn’t change anything."
“I guess I can drive you home and maybe even collect,” Daisy said jokingly.
They approached an old white two-door car that had black leather bucket seats. They got in. They pull out of the parking spot and drive off. They pull up to Madden’s place and come to Madden’s long staircase. They stood in front of a blue building.
“This is where you live?” Daisy asked. She looked up as she tried to locate where the staircase ends. “Do you have a T.V. in your room?”
“Yea,” Madden said. He sank into his seat. What does my television have to do with anything? Madden thought to himself.
“Can I go upstairs?” Daisy asked. The car got silent. “It’s okay if I can’t.”
“Well, my dad is home,” Madden said. He thought that would get her to change her mind. He never brought a girl home before.
“I’ll be quiet. And you owe me,” Daisy said. She turned toward Madden. “Let’s go!”
"Fine," Madden said. He is getting nervous all over again. "But we have to be quiet,"
Madden quietly opened his front door of the house and Daisy is following behind him. Madden quickly sneaks her into his room. Only streetlights from outside the window lit the room. Madden and Daisy sit on the bed.
"I am so tired," Daisy said. She quickly got under the covers with all her clothes on.  Madden goes into his closet. He changed into pajama pants. He grabs an extra pair for Daisy and tried to hand them over but she declined. She curled up and faced a wall. Madden climbed in the bed with her. He went to lay closer to her before he realized she was just in her black bra and a black thong. Madden’s heart raced. He did not know what to do or where to start. He wrapped his arm around her waist.
“I’m tired. Maybe when I wake up,” she said. She pushed him away. He laid there and stared at the ceiling. He thought about how he has the hottest and prettiest girl in school. How she was laying in the bed to him, naked. His heart continued to race and he could not sleep. He looked over at her to see what she is doing. Hours into the night, she rolled over and put her arm around him.
“Should I pull out some condoms?” He suggested. Luckily the high school gave them out every so often. Madden kept some just in case.
“No, I am still tired.” She said.
Madden continued to stare at the ceiling. He eventually dozed off. Soon after, Daisy shakes his arm.
“Can we have sex?” Daisy asked Madden. she stared him down for a reaction. Her eyes were drowsy.
“Uh, sure,” Madden said.

The next morning, Madden is woken up early to Daisy's cell that is going off. It was vibrating until it fell off the nightstand.  Madden tried to wake Daisy but she is knocked out. He was not only trying to wake her up for her phone but he had the urge to pee. She was on his arm. Daisy would not budge. Madden forcefully slid his arm from underneath her. Her head slid off the side of the bed and hit the big brown wooden frame of the bed.
“Sorry” Madden immediately apologizes, but the baffled sleepy Daisy was still not coherent. Madden raced to the bathroom and back to bed to try to enjoy more of this moment. Daisy was turned toward his way, sound asleep. Her phone is missing from the floor from where it fell from the nightstand.
Madden tried to cuddle back up. Daisy put her bare leg on him. Madden didn't mind it much. Then Daisy pulled herself on top of him. She had his polo shirt on and her panties. She climbed on top of him and straddled him. She rubbed on him hard. He couldn't help but notice she looked asleep. Was she sleepwalking but with sex? Madden was enjoying every minute. He could not stop her. He did not want to stop her. He finished as soon as she moans. Daisy suddenly stopped and looked at him with her tired eyes.
"I got to go," she whispered. She kissed his forehead. "Thank you."
"Did you finish?" Madden asked. He is wished he accomplished something. Daisy smiled and started to collect her stuff and raced in the bathroom. Minutes later, she comes back out fully dressed and lays his polo next to him. She ran out of the room.
Madden peeks out of his window and follows Daisy as she raced to her car and took off. Then Madden peered over toward the neighbor's house and saw Alex stretching on her fence, about to go off on her morning run. Alex's head also followed Daisy’s car as it zooms off. As soon as Daisy’s car was out of sight, Alex's face swiftly turned to the window where Madden was standing. Madden drops to the floor to avoid her attention.
At the school that day, Madden walked through the hallways in the greatest mood of his life. Everyone questioned his joyfulness, but as a real gentleman, he never kissed and tells. Eventually, Madden ran into Rainer and let it all out.
“We did it,” Madden said. He approached Rainer at a locker. Rainer was moving books around. He was looking for something.
“Did what?” Rainer asked. He pulled a huge biology book off the top shelf.
“We had sex,” Madden said. He had a huge smile on his face. Rainer drops the book and turned to Madden.
“In the theater?” Rainer responded. While he is bending down to pick up the book. “Did you even go?”
“Yes, I went! And no, at my place!” Madden said. The bell rang. the two begin racing to class.
“Whoa, with your dad there?” Rainer asked. “Did he know?”
“Well, she spent the night,” Madden said. “I don’t think dad knows.”
"You lucky, son of a bitch," Rainer said. "And you didn't even what to go."
